The Biophilic Institute was inspired by deep conversations during a visiting Serenbe Fellowship in 2013. These conversations inspired a group of multidisciplinary professionals to found the institute dedicated to integrating nature into modern urban development.

The nonprofit organization was created to combat environmental degradation, urban sprawl, and the growing social and physical isolation caused by modern consumerism and is based just outside of Atlanta in the leading biophilic wellness community of Serenbe.
